Our opening prayer for this Easter week:

Holy, holy, holy! Lord God Almighty!
Early in the morning our song shall rise to Thee;
Holy, holy, holy, merciful and mighty!
God in three Persons, blessèd Trinity!

Holy, holy, holy! All the saints adore Thee,
Casting down their golden crowns around the glassy sea;
Cherubim and seraphim falling down before Thee,
Who was, and is, and evermore shall be.

Holy, holy, holy! though the darkness hide Thee,
Though the eye of sinful man Thy glory may not see;
Only Thou art holy; there is none beside Thee,
Perfect in power, in love, and purity.

Holy, holy, holy! Lord God Almighty!
All thy works shall praise thy Name, in earth, and sky, and sea;
Holy, holy, holy; merciful and mighty!
God in three Persons, blessèd Trinity.


Zechariah 3:1–5

  • "Then he showed me the high priest Joshua standing before the angel of the LORD, with Satan standing at his right side to accuse him. 2 The LORD said to Satan: "The LORD rebuke you, Satan! May the LORD who has chosen Jerusalem rebuke you! Isn't this man a burning stick snatched from the fire?"
  • 3 Now Joshua was dressed with filthy clothes as he stood before the angel. 4 So the angel of the LORD spoke to those standing before him, "Take off his filthy clothes!" 
  • Then he said to him, "See, I have removed your iniquity from you, and I will clothe you with festive robes."
  • 5 Then I said, "Let them put a clean turban on his head." 
  • So a clean turban was placed on his head, and they clothed him in garments while the angel of the LORD was standing nearby.

For yourself pray:

  • That God gives you great joy in the wondrous forgiveness and priesthood he has given in Christ to the other believers around you

For others pray:

  • That God gives peace in Christ to the person you know who is struggling the most with feeling filthy as Satan keeps accusing him/her
