daily reading 37.5 (Proverbs 16:33)

5-days-a-week through Daniel and other late OT books in 2023

Our opening prayer for this week:

Oh, bless the Lord, my soul!
Let all within me join
And aid my tongue to praise his name
Whose favors are divine.

Oh, bless the Lord, my soul,
Nor let his mercies lie
Forgotten in unthankfulness
And without praises die.

’Tis he forgives my sins;
’Tis he relieves my pain;
’Tis he that heals my sicknesses
And makes me young again.

He fills the poor with good;
He gives the sufferers rest;
The Lord has judgments for the proud
And justice for the oppressed.

His wondrous works and ways
He made my by Moses known,
But sent the world his truth and grace
By his beloved Son. Amen.

Proverbs 16:33

  • The lot is cast into the lap, but its every decision is from the LORD.
Helpful notes on Proverbs 16:33 , a verse which summarizes one aspect of Esther well

For yourself pray:

  • That God gives you peace over a difficult decision you have made

For others pray:

  • That God gives his Spirit's wisdom to someone you know who is facing a perplexing decision

A psalm to listen to and ponder, as time allows:
