daily reading 15.3 (Daniel 12:8–10)

5-days-a-week through Daniel and other late OT books in 2023

Our opening prayer for this glorious Easter week:

Lord, you have heard your Servant’s cry, And rescued from the grave.
Now he shall live, and none can die, If God has sworn to save.

This is the day the Lord has made; He calls the hours his own.
Let heaven rejoice; let earth be glad And praise surround the throne.

Today he rose and left the dead, And Satan’s empire fell;
Today the saints his triumphs spread And all his wonders tell.

Hosanna to th’ anointed King, To David’s holy Son!
Help us, O Lord; descend and bring Salvation from the throne.

Blessed is Jesus Christ, who came With messages of grace,
Who came in God the Father’s name To save our sinful race.

Hosanna in the highest strains The church on earth shall raise;
The highest heavens, in which he reigns, Shall give him nobler praise.
Amen.

Daniel 12:8–10

  • I heard but did not understand. So I asked, "My lord, what will be the outcome of these things?"
  • 9 He said, "Go on your way, Daniel, for the words are secret and sealed until the time of the end.
  • 10 "Many will be purified, cleansed, and refined, but the wicked will act wickedly; none of the wicked will understand, but those who have insight will understand."
Helpful notes on Daniel 12:8–10

For yourself pray:

  • That God gives you wisdom to understand what his Word is saying to you

For others pray:

  • That God purifies and refines your congregation

A psalm to listen to, as time allows:
