daily reading 15.4 (Daniel 12:11–13)

5-days-a-week through Daniel and other late OT books in 2023

Our opening prayer for this glorious Easter week:

Lord, you have heard your Servant’s cry, And rescued from the grave.
Now he shall live, and none can die, If God has sworn to save.

This is the day the Lord has made; He calls the hours his own.
Let heaven rejoice; let earth be glad And praise surround the throne.

Today he rose and left the dead, And Satan’s empire fell;
Today the saints his triumphs spread And all his wonders tell.

Hosanna to th’ anointed King, To David’s holy Son!
Help us, O Lord; descend and bring Salvation from the throne.

Blessed is Jesus Christ, who came With messages of grace,
Who came in God the Father’s name To save our sinful race.

Hosanna in the highest strains The church on earth shall raise;
The highest heavens, in which he reigns, Shall give him nobler praise.
Amen.

Daniel 12:11–13

  • "From the time the daily sacrifice is abolished and the abomination of desolation is set up, there will be 1,290 days.
  • 12 Happy is the one who waits for and reaches 1,335 days.
  • 13 But as for you, go on your way to the end; you will rest, and then you will stand to receive your allotted inheritance at the end of the days."
Helpful notes on Daniel 12:11–13

For yourself pray:

  • That God clarifies his Word to you by his Spirit for the glory of his Son

For others pray:

  • That God preserves his gospel in the homes of your congregation through God-fearing parents

A psalm to listen to, as time allows:
